Hello and welcome to another episode of the Signal of Doom.
This week Stew and returning co-host Simon Jones tackle the topics of this week, while giving Simon a chance to explain last weeks positive Predator review!
We also touch on spoilers from the Russo brothers, the walking dead, the joker, and the new captain Marvel trailer among others.
This weeks Stew is joined by some long time friends of the signal to play through Marvel Munchkin.
Joining Stew is Daniel Watts, Simon Jones, and Stew’s little brother Greg.
The 4 of us take on Marvel Munchkin, playing as a group of lowly S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, we try to progress up the ladder by taking down some of the baddest super people in the Marvel universe, luckily aided by some of the heaviest hitters ourselves!
Following the play through (1:50:00) we delve into some news of the week including the state of the DCEU now that it looks like they need a Superman and a Batman, where the Catain Marvel trailer is, and whats happening with comic book movies biggest competitors in Fast and Furious and Jurassic World.
WELCOME GANG to another big SHOW, the last episode before Dave goes to Hawaii for his holiday and STEW TAKES OVER for 3 weeks!
Don’t worry kids, Dave will be back and is full of ranting this episode to make up for his up coming absence!
There was a big Kevin Smith presentation on the Dc Universe streaming service that is launching on batman Day, Sept 15 which we discuss in detail, Oscar Isaac is linked to The Batman, and there’s speculation Batfleck might be uninsurable for the Batman, if he is used at all.
We take a swing at the appalling standards of journalism at CBR, and there’s an interesting look at recent example of “Insult apology” by Bendis on Superman, while our favourite debate about ninjas makes a comeback!
RIP Gary Friedrich, Marie Severin , and Russ Heath. All legends, go in peace. You changed the world with your work.
Dave is excited about Red Dead Redemption 2, and the guys critique the upcoming Heroes in Crisis event by Tom King. Dave’s dad almost stopped the car when he heard Batman and Superman were headed for therapy!
Get ready for next week when Stew takes CONTROL! Aloha!
Hey GANG! Well, Dave is back from his cocktail party, 3 G&T’s deep, and he has NOT done his Luke Cage TV homework! Meanwhile, he has survived a POSSIBLE MUGGING, all for the sake of one pink iced donut! Frank Castle, you might be needed! MEANWHILE STEW has rolled through all 13 episodes of Luke Cage, and Dave feels his wrath! Finally this week after pestering by Dave, Stew finally UNLEASHES HIS DARK VISION OF THE FUTURE!
Also theres extensive breakdown of the Predator trailer, Jared Leto is going to play Morbius, and there’s FINALLY SOME news about the Dc streaming service!

Dave and his cohost, The Main Man STEW light up the night sky with another episode of Signal of Doom! This is a massive show covering a LOT of news – we cover DC & Warners latest movie making moves that still seem shrouded in chaos, Davis called AFFABLE by Flint Henry and is very proud, Chuck Dixon smashes the comic page count writing record with 40,000 pages , we talk Netflix Defenders, Disney’s up coming streaming service, Stew and Dave make a bet about Suicide Squad vs Justice League, Stew collects on a previous bet, and there is a lengthy of what a Harley and Joker movie will do to Gotham City Sirens chances of a release. The appearance of Martin Scorcese as a reported producer on a Joker origin movie is as interesting as it is confusing. On top of that we discuss the wonderful Batgirl: Year One by Chuck Dixon, Scott Beatty and Marcos Martin, Dave and Stew argue once again about Punisher, we relive the story of Microchip and his son’s death, Dave finds out who is playing Microchip and is somewhat annoyed it is not a big guy in a Hawaiian shirt. We do have some echo recording issues about half way through this podcast and my apologies for that, blame the eclipse! Also, we hear Dave’s true feelings about Casey Affleck, and BUY the Batbot at Kings Comics! THIS AND MUCH MORE! BEAM THE SIGNAL!
